PayPal Payment has Failed

PayPal Payment has Failed

If you activated your Ness sim card using PayPal as the billing method or by credit/debit card via PayPal, your payment is automatically processed each month via the PayPal payment gateway. This payment is setup as a PayPal subscription.

If you have activated the sim card before 1st of July 2023 and the payment is being processed on your credit/debit card, then the payment transaction would most likely be going through PayPal and PayPal would take the payment from your credit/debit card each month.

If PayPal can’t process the payment, it’s usually because your credit or debit card has expired.

Why was my payment declined or why did it fail ?

A payment may be declined for various reasons. If your payment was declined, you may need to:

If none of the above apply or if you continue having issues with your payment, you can also try:

  • Changing your payment method. If you only have one payment method linked to PayPal, you’ll first need to add another payment method. You can link a credit or debit card or link bank account.
  • Contacting your card provider or bank for more information. To protect your privacy, your card provider or bank doesn’t tell PayPal why your card was declined. If you’re still unable to make a payment, contact them directly for details.
  • Transfer funds into your PayPal account so your PayPal account has a balance to withdraw from rather than from your bank account or credit/debit card.

How long do I have to fix my PayPal account before the sim card deactivates?

As PayPal was unable to process the payment, we (Ness) will get notified from PayPal advising the payment failed. We will then give you 14 days to fix the payment issue. If we are unable to process the payment the morning of the deactivation day as per the email (or SMS), we will send you a reminder advising it still failed and we will then deactivate it at 4:30PM if we are unable process the payment at 4:30PM.

When the sim card becomes deactivated, it will no longer be able to make outgoing calls / SMS or receive incoming calls / SMS until, or use any data services it’s reactivated. It’s highly recommended that you action the failed payment as soon as possible and advise us that you have attempted to fix the payment so we can verify that the payment can now be processed before the 14 days is up.

Who do I contact to fix my PayPal if I can’t fix it ?

As Ness is unable to view your PayPal account to see why the payment failed, you would need to contact PayPal directly and they will need to look into it. Advise them you have a subscription and the payment failed and they should be able to assist you.

Can I change the billing method to direct debit or credit card without using PayPal ?

Yes. You can upgrade the payment method to use our system to do the direct debit from a bank account, or from a credit/debit card. Please email simactivation@ness.com.au with your Ness sim card number and advise you want to change the billing method from PayPal and we can provide you a link to upgrade your billing method.
